7 Young Talented Indonesian Architects

Architect as a profession in creative industry plays an important in the development of a nation. Architect would design a building, so the building can be comfortably used and pleasant to look at. There are many young talented Indonesian architects, some of them has been very successful locally and internationally.

Below are the names of 7 young talented Indonesian architects, whose work has its own characteristic.

1. Ridwan Kamil

Ridwan Kamil is a graduate architect from the Bandung Institute of Technology who was born on October 4, 1971. Ridwan Kamil is a kind of architect whose design is unpredictable, therefore he is called non signature architect. Design theory used by Ridwal Kamil such as theory of analogy, green architecture, folding theory, and creating programming.

2. Budi Pradono

Budi Pradono was born in 1970 and graduated from the architecture department of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana. He has won several awards thanks to the design concept of contemporary eco-friendly architecture. In 1995 his work has been used as a benchmark by architects due to publicity in the Japanese architectural magazine.

3. Yu Sing

Yu Sing, a young architect who was born in Bandung on July 5, 1976 is known as the architect, whose work is unique. Yu Sing is a graduate of architectural study at Bandung Institute of Technology in 1999. After graduation he set up a studio of architects called Genesis and in 2011 it became Akanoma. The design style is contemporary environmental friendly design.

4. Baskoro Tedjo

Baskoro Tedjo design a building based on the character of the occupants. According to Baskoro Tedjo, character of its owner can be reflected in a design from the initial stage of design. Cultural approach and the power of the site can be combined to obtain an appropriate design. One of the design works is Selasar Sunaryo Art Space in Bandung, which is currently open as a tourist attraction.

5. Daliana Suryawinata

Daliana has her doctorate degree from University of Delft, Netherlands. Daliana is well-known for her design concept of Jakarta Super Kampung 2045. As a brilliant woman architect, she has won many architectural awards. She has also published numerous books about architecture.

6. Wendi Djuhara

Wendi Djuhara career as an architect is fully supported by her husband Ahmad Djuhara, who is also an architect. One of her brilliant design works is Shining Star School. Her work of Shining Star School was taken into account in international competition World Architecture Festival in Barcelona in 2010.

7. Raul Renanda

The work of Raul Renanda is not only in architecture, but also in media. Philosophy design of Raul Renanda is creating design that contributes to society and environment . Retro-Tropical-Modern style is his characteristic for residential building design.
