The Second Quarter 2013 Residential Property Price Survey By BI

The residential property survey by Bank of Indonesia (BI) shows price increase for all house types in quarter II-2003. The residential property price index was at level of 164.16, surged by 2.19% (qtq), due to the price surge of building materials, increse of fuel prices and rise in wages.

Based on property type, the most significant increase in property prices affected houses with floor area of 36 m2 – 70 m2 (medium houses). By location, the most significant increased happened in Manado, an increase by 9.70%. Property price jump in Manado was in line with increased local economic activity and Manado was viewed as a representative in regional development in East Indonesia.

Residential property sales in the second quarter of 2013 increased by 18.08%. The surge of residential property sales was driven by strong public demand for houses, an increase of 23.43% in medium size houses and a 23.43% increase in small size houses.
